Vodka drinks for a house party

At a house party the host should not be stuck behind the bar. So this list starts with six jugs, each serving 4, that you can get ready before people arrive. After those come long drinks that take a minute each: pour vodka over ice, add the juice or tonic, and stir. Guests can make those themselves if you leave the bottles out. Three small shots close the list. Vodka takes on whatever you mix with it, so nimbu, jaljeera, aam panna and pudina all work well.

You chose mocktails only, so the drinks with alcohol are hidden here. See the mocktail guides

Questions

How much vodka and mixer do I buy for 10 people?

At two drinks each that is 20 drinks. At 60 ml of vodka and 150 ml of juice or mixer per glass, as in the Screwdriver and Vodka Cranberry, you need 1.2 litres of vodka and 3 litres of mixer. Two 750 ml bottles will cover it, with some left over.

How far ahead can I make the jugs?

Mix the base a few hours ahead and keep it in the fridge. The Diwali Diya Punch needs at least 30 minutes there anyway. Add the ice and soda only when you pour, or the jug goes flat and watery.

I can't find cranberry juice or blue curaçao. What then?

Skip those drinks. The Nimbu Masala Vodka Punch needs only lemon, sugar, black salt, cumin powder and soda besides the vodka, and that is one of the jugs most homes can make tonight.
