Muddle 3 hulled strawberries with 2 tsp sugar in a tall glass.
Add 15 ml fresh lemon juice and a pinch of black pepper. Stir well.
Fill with ice and top with 150 ml soda water.
Stir gently and finish with a light grind of pepper and a strawberry slice.
Serve straight away with a straw while it is fizzy, alongside cheese crackers or chocolate cookies.
