Warm 180 ml apple juice in a small pan with 1 cinnamon stick, 3 cloves and 1 orange slice for 5 minutes. Do not boil.
Pour 45 ml bourbon into a heat-safe mug.
Strain the hot spiced apple juice over the bourbon and stir. Garnish with the cinnamon stick.
Serve hot right away on a coaster, with a slice of apple pie or plain cake on the side.
